Prize Details
The A.C.T. (Achieving Community Today) project gives people in the community an opportunity to shape Charlotte’s future with small projects that would allow others to imagine tomorrow, but act today. Projects should connect people across lines of differences. To learn more visit the Crossroads Charlotte website at: www.crossroadscharlotte.org
Winners receive $500 from Crossroads Charlotte to impact their community. Projects must be completed within 45-60 days after notification.
Contest Instructions
Timeline:
1. No later than October 28th submit an idea.
2. By November 4th and prior to community voting, finalists will be selected via a vetting process by Crossroads Charlotte evaluation team to ensure projects connect people across lines of differences.
3. The public will vote on selected projects from November 7th to November 21st. The project idea(s) that receive the most votes will be awarded.
4. Winners will be selected by public vote and announced on November 22nd.
5. All winning projects must be completed by January 20, 2012.
Employees of Crossroads Charlotte, and Foundation For The Carolinas are not eligible.
Recipients of the 2011-2012 Crossroads Charlotte and Front Porch grants are not eligible.
Project must be completed in Mecklenburg County.
Organization/groups total operating budget should be less than $25,000.
A.C.T. project total budget should not exceed $1,000.
Awards will be given as a Visa gift card. See official rules for more details.
Winners will be asked to be active on the Crossroads Charlotte web site and Facebook fan page in the following ways:
1. Become a member of the web site, www.crossroadscharlotte.org, and create a profile
2. Post the event on the web site in advance (expected only if it is open to the public)
3. Following the event, post a status update and photos (if available) on the Facebook fan page
Also note that the event may be covered by Crossroads Correspondents and highlights may occur in the Bulletin section of the web site.
