Eligibility: open to legal residents of the United States (excluding the states of MD, VT and CO) and the District of Columbia, who are 14 years of age; and legal residents of Canada (excluding the Province of Quebec) who are of the age of majority in their province or territory of residence and who are physically located and reside in Canada (excluding the Province of Quebec) at time of entry, who will be attending a high school, home
school association or other school-sanctioned prom in 2013 ("Eligible Participant"). Anyone who was designated as a Finalist in a previous Duck® Brand Duct Tape Stuck at Prom® Scholarship Contest is not eligible to participate in this Contest.
Eligible participants may enter as a “single” individual, in the “Single Category” or as a couple ("Entrant" or "Entrant Couple"). Entries submitted in the Singles Category will be judged against other singles’ entries and are only eligible for the Singles Category prize. Singles entries are not eligible for the main scholarship prizes.
Wear complete prom attire and/or accessories made using Duck® brand duct tape. Other materials, in addition to Duck brand® duct tape, may be used or incorporated into the design. You must submit at least one photo of you for “Single Category” or one photo of you and your prom date for “Couples Category” in Duck® Brand Duct Tape prom attire; however the location of the photograph can vary (before, during or after prom). The prom attire must be an original creation made by the single or couple, and may not copy, incorporate or be based on the work of a third party – any entry as such is subject to disqualification at the discretion of Sponsor. Eligible Participant’s Entry must be in the English language. All components of each entry must be submitted online in accordance with these Official Rules and received by 11:59:59 PM ET on 6/5/13 in order to be eligible.
(You will have to answer some questions when entering too, such as how long it took you, how you thought of the design, etc. Try to keep track of that while making it.)
Any Entrant who is a minor must notify his/her parent/guardian, have the consent of his or her parent/guardian and provide parent/guardian with the option to opt out their entry from admission in the Contest.
If you are between the ages of 14 -17 years old, you will be required to enter your parent or legal guardian’s first name, last name and email address in addition to your own. You will continue to submit your entry to completion, and an approval email will be sent to the parent or legal guardian confirming your entry with the subject line “Stuck at Prom® Contest Parental Consent”. The parent/legal guardian can then elect to opt-out their child and prevent them from entering by clicking the link provided. A parent can opt-out their child at any time during the Contest Period.
When your entry is received, you will be notified via e-mail. After a moderation period, you will receive an e-mail notification that your submission has been accepted or denied. Please do not call or e-mail prior to three weeks passing. Online viewing of the Contest Entries will begin upon receipt and acceptance of the first contest entry, and will be posted indefinitely.
Prizes: First Place winner: $5,000 will be awarded to each individual of
the winning Couple, as well as the school that sponsored the Prom.
Second Place winner: $3,000 will be awarded to each individual of the winning Couple, as well as the school that sponsored the Prom.
Third Place winner: $2,000 will be awarded to each individual of the winning Couple, as well as the school that sponsored the Prom.
Seven (7) Runners-Up winners: $500 will be awarded to each of the individuals of the winning Couples, as well as the schools that sponsored the Proms. .
All prizes listed above will be awarded in the form of a check. Honorable Mention winners for the following Categories – Best Purse, Best Corsage, Best Shoes, Best Tie, Best Jewelry and Best Prop: A Duck® Brand Duct Tape Prize Pack will be awarded to each individual of the winning couple. Prize pack consists of thirty (30) 10-20 yard rolls of color and printed Duck® Brand Duct Tape (colors and prints to be chosen by Sponsor) and a stuffed Trust E Duck character. ARV: $125/each individual.
One (1) Singles Category winner: $500 awarded to an individual as well as the school that sponsored the Prom.
Total ARV ofall prizes: $42,250.
Official Rules are the sole responsibility of the winners. Prizes may not be transferred, substituted or redeemed for cash, except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion.
Limit one prize per person/email address. If a U.S. resident, First, Second and Third
Place winners must supply Administrator with his/her social security number for tax purposes and winner will receive an IRS Form 1099 from the Administrator for the ARV of the prizes stated above for the calendar year won.
Start and End Dates: The Contest begins at 10:00:00 AM Eastern Time (ET) on 3/11/13 and ends 11:59:59 PM ET on 7/8/13 (the “Contest Period”).
