Contest Instructions
Before ‘Owling’ there was ‘Planking’. Before ‘Planking’, there was your younger brother mooning people in your pictures. Now, comes the grandfather of all photo and videographing trends – ‘Canoeing’.For those of you who aren’t familiar with ‘Canoeing’, it first appeared when Western explorers travelled to North America and tried to communicate with the Aboriginals. For a lack of word to explain ‘Canoeing’, the explorers decided to mimic the action of paddling a canoe in a whimsical dance fashion, causing the Aboriginals to burst out in uncontrollable laughter and thus, offering the explorers all of their land. The trend has caught on ever since, but we are bringing it back in a big way with Canoedeal’s ‘Do the Canoe’ Contest!
What we want from you is a home made video of you and your buddies doing your wackiest, most outrageous rendition of ‘The Canoe’, going down the cereal isle in the supermarket, coming up the drive-thru window or walking across the stage at your graduation. The more obscure places the better, and the more people you share your embarrassment with on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, the better your chances are of winning. The prize: $400 in cold, hard cash, for the best video submitted to us and voted by you and your friends. Not bad for half a day’s work, huh?
