Travelcology and Citi5 are shooting a documentary film to increase awareness of the Mountain Bike Haiti (MBH) project. MBH aims to build up a sustainable adventure tourism industry leveraging the epic undiscovered trails of Haiti, the “Land of Mountains”. Produced by Emmy award winning director Michael Brown, and featuring legends and icons of mountain biking, this film promises to generate tremendous excitement and become a classic. Two lucky amateur mountain bikers will win a chance to appear in the film alongside the pros, and will spend a week in Haiti riding trails alongside these icons.
The two lucky winners will become ambassadors for the Mountain Bike Haiti project, spreading awareness through social media, discussions with friends and other channels.
For a chance to win a trip to Haiti and an appearance in the film, tell us why you would be the best advocate for the cause!
- Submit a short essay (less than 500 words) about why you would make a great ambassador and why you are so inspired by the opportunity to mountain bike in Haiti.
- Submit a short video (less than 3 minutes) that shows why you would be a good ambassador. Be as creative as you want. Upload your video to YouTube, and tag it with MountainBikeHaiti and include the URL link in your entry
- “Like” our page at facebook.com/mountainbikehaiti , and join the discussion at www.citi5.org .
- Promote Mountain Bike Haiti to your social network in as many ways as possible and get as many friends as possible to comment, like, and share your video on our wall
After all entries are submitted, a panel of judges will narrow the field to approx 10 entries, and these will be chosen by popular vote. You will be notified if you are among one of the ten so that you can encourage your friends and riding buddies to support you.
Entries that do not win may still come to Haiti and ride the trails. If you come during the filming, there will likely be some opportunity to meet some of the icons and legends.
Make sure you check the Travelcology and Citi5 sites often for updates.
Only persons who are at least 18 years of age can enter.
